Agathe Vershaffel was born in the mid 80s. With the encouragement of her parents, she started painting at the age of seven. Her first exhibition, which received a
great reception from the public, took place when she was eighteen. Self taught, she first devled in abstract, classic, projections and physical painting before establishing her own
hyper-realistic style over time.
She now specialises in black and white, because she finds it moving through the impact of constrasts, and acrylic because it dries quickly. She likes architectures,
mechanics, shanty towns, squats and other things; that are often hiden or ignored.
A picture needs hundreds of hours of work which she manages to fulfill thanks to seasonal work.
However, it is difficult and costly to find places in which to expose her art. Nevertheless, she has received prizes and grants and she has participated in numerous
exhibitions. This allows for constructive criticism.
